I want this baby SOOOOO bad....I keep getting out bid since I don't wanna spend a lot of money!!! Maybe I will get lucky one of these days tho!!! Patience, as many of you may know, is not one of my strongest traits :)

have you checked b&h? That's where I got mine last year...they were quite a bit cheeper than even amazon and ebay (comparing to buy it now prices). I would love to have the 1.4 or the 1.2...go check out the prices on those and the 1.8 really IS cheep..and well worth the INVESTMENT. :)
I have the 1.8, but I shoot Canon...very well worth the money, and fairly reasonable as far as lenses go :D
