Back to reality!!!!

So we are back at it. Things seem so out of control and I hate that. We have been apartment searching the last few days but are not having much luck. It will be so hard going from a house to an apartment. We have had a lot of interest in the house too so hopefully it will sell SOON. I feel a little like I'm missing Ethans first few days here because we have been so busy. I've been just terrible about taking pictures too which I'm a bit upset about. He will only be this little for a few more days. He had his check up today and seems to be doing very well. He's back to his birth weight which is awesome considering that just on monday he was right at 7 lb. He's a good little eater and a very well behave little guy. I love the snuggles that I'm able to sqeese in especially at night. Conner is doing ok for the most part. He's keeping his distance most of the time but is quite the little helper. Getting diapers and Ethans plug or even covering him up with a blankie : ) NO hugs or kisses though...wont even sit by him!!! He just needs more time I guess. He sure is glad to have his mama for snuggles atg the end of the day : ) So sweet!!! My baby seems so grown up now!!!

Rest (kinda) and bliss!!

Our little sweetie. He is such a good little baby so far. Conner was a much fussier baby at least at this point. He's sleeping well at night so far too. Last night I only fed him 3 times. I was feeling so great that I think I may have pushed myself a bit too far yesterday because I woke up this morning in pain so I have taken it easy most the day today!!! The recovery is much smoother the 2nd time around though huh?!?!?
We walked down to the park yesterday to fly a kite but Conner seemed more interested in jumping in the puddles!!!
It was not windy enough for the kite flying adventure but Neal sure got a workout trying to get it up in the air. Conner was interested in stomping on the kite and pulling the ribbons!!! He sure is a little force of destruction : ) Sure is nice to have Neal home with us. The 4 weeks that he has off will just fly by I'm sure. Especially with all that we have to get accomplished.
He even had little muddy splatters on his face...sure likes to get messy!!!
All snuggled up!!!
You forget how tiny they are when they are born. How do you get a good picture showing how tiny they really are...any suggestions????
Not a big fan of the paci but he will take it once in a while!!!

Thank you everyone!!!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and wishes over the last few days. We are lucky to have such great friends and family!!

Wow....

Little Ethan slept for 6 1/2 hours last night. I actually had to wake him up this morning to feed him. Even if it does not happen again for 6 months I will take one good night sleep ;)

We are home!!!

Our little family. We are finally home and it feels so natural to have Ethan with us. Conner did so well with G'ma and G'pa that it almost made me a little sad he did not miss me more : ( He had fun and was a good little trooper. Thank you G'ma Jenny and Papa Rick for watching him.

I'm amazed at how well I am feeling...I would almost go as far as saying that I feel better now than I did when I was pregnant. No comparison to the recovery after Conner or the delivery for that matter. So glad to be home though!!! Everyone is napping now and I'm trying to enjoy a bit of peace and quiet. Little Ethan has his days and nights definitely confused so I'm trying to prepare for the LONG night ahead : )

7 reasons not to mess with children!!!

A little girl was talking to her teacher about whales.
The teacher said it was physically impossible for a whale to swallow a human because even though it was a very large mammal, its throat was very small.
The little girl stated that Jonah was swallowed by a whale.
Irritated, the teacher reiterated that a whale could not swallow a human; it was physically impossible.
The little girl said, "When I get to heaven I will ask Jonah".
The teacher asked, "What if Jonah went to hell?"
The little girl replied, "Then you ask him"

A Kindergarten teacher was observing her classroom of children while they were drawing. She would occasionally walk around to see each child's work.
As she got to one little girl who was working diligently, she asked what the drawing was.
The girl replied, "I'm drawing God."
The teacher paused and said, "But no one knows what God looks like."
Without missing a beat, or looking up from her drawing, the girl replied, "They will in a minute."

A Sunday school teacher was discussing the Ten Commandments with her five and six year olds.
After explaining the commandment to "honour" thy Father and thy Mother, she asked, "Is there a commandment that teaches us how to treat our brothers and sisters?"
Without missing a beat one little boy (the oldest of a family) answered, "Thou shall not kill."

One day a little girl was sitting and watching her mother do the dishes at the kitchen sink. She suddenly noticed that her mother had several strands of white hair sticking out in contrast on her brunette head.
She looked at her mother and inquisitively asked, "Why are some of your hairs white, Mom?"
Her mother replied, "Well, every time that you do something wrong and make me cry or unhappy, one of my hairs turns white."
The little girl thought about this revelation for a while and then said, "Momma, how come ALL of grandma's hairs are white?"

The children had all been photographed, and the teacher was trying to persuade them each to buy a copy of the group picture.
"Just think how nice it will be to look at it when you are all grown up and say, 'There's Jennifer, she's a lawyer,' or 'That's Michael, He's a doctor.'
A small voice at the back of the room rang out, "And there's the teacher, she's dead."

A teacher was giving a lesson on the circulation of the blood. Trying to make the matter clearer, she said, "Now, class, if I stood on my head, the blood, as you know, would run into it, and I would turn red in the face."
"Yes," the class said.
"Then why is it that while I am standing upright in the ordinary position the blood doesn't run into my feet?"
A little fellow shouted, "Cause your feet ain't empty."

The children were lined up in the cafeteria of a Catholic elementary school for lunch. At the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The nun made a note, and posted on the apple tray:
"Take only ONE . God is watching."
Moving further along the lunch line, at the other end of the table was a large pile of chocolate chip cookies.
A child had God is watching the apples." written a note, "Take all you want.

A little fun in the sun!!!

We had a very fun day today. Sara and Simon came this morning to play with us. Conner and Simon played so well together with Conner's cars and tools . We even walked down to the park for a bit but it was still muddy and wet so we headed home for lunch after just a little while. This afternoon Sara and Simon stopped by to pick something up and Simon and Conner played a little while longer. I did get my flower beds all cleaned up in the front. They look much better now. I decided against raking just in case : ) Need to make sure I have enough energy!!!
Conner playing with his ruck and tools. Helping mom with the flower beds. Check out his pants...he was a mess. I picked him up some rain boots at Target this morning but they are just WAY too big and they did not have a smaller size. I will have to go return them tomorrow and see if I can find some different ones that fit better.
He's growing up so quick. I'm sure he will seem so big once the baby is here too. Unless of course the baby is a 40 pounder like I'm hoping...hehe.
I Love this picture!!!

Dear Internet...

Wow it's been a while since I have posted anything. I guess I have become a bit lazy in my last few weeks of pregnancy : ) It's almost over though and I have to say I am enjoying eating what I want and as much as I want the last few days knowing that it will all have to end soon. As Mike told me a couple weeks ago "mind as well go out with a bang" and I'm following his advice. Our due date is Saturday and it can't get here soon enough. Neal comes home Tuesday night, it has been a very long week again with him being gone. We miss him so much and just want him home. Hopefully with the weather warming up we will get more interest in the house. I had a great open house today and hopefully something will come out of it. It better anyway with all the cleaning I did...haha. I think I was nesting cuz I left no corner unturned. I'm not sure if our house has EVER been this clean or organized. It may be just me trying to keep busy and not think about things as well. I'm sure that by the end of the day today our little mess maker will have things re-organized!!! It's been so nice out here and tomorrow it's suppose to be 67* so you know what I will be doing...haha. I'm always the first one out there to work in the flower beds and rake and get the yard cleaned up...does not matter that there are still piles of snow thigh high on the side of our driveway and that across the street at our neighbors you still can't see the grass!!! I love working in the yard and am antsy to get started.

Well Neal has officially made it through interviews...he passed so that is awesome news. Now he will be going through all of this again in 6 to 18 months. Not sure if it will ever end for him but for now it's a huge load off his shoulders. He has only one class left now and will be finished with school as well. Things are starting to settle down a bit for him now if we could just sell the house things would really start looking up for us. I just do not see it happening anytime soon...I think that is just the pessimist in me talking but we have had one terrible experience and I guess that it just keeps coming back to haunt me. Well that is all I have for now...hopefully the next time I post it will be pictures of the new addition to our family.

Things I'm thanknful for today!!!

1. A wonderful husband who is willing to take care of me and Conner when we are not feeling well.
2. A great kid who sometimes does listen to me and gives me hugs and kisses when I need them most...he melts my heart most days.
3. The little tiny signs of spring all around us.
4. The fact that I'm ok with the toy room being turned upside down and a complete disaster!!! And the rest of the house being a bit messy too : )
5. For friends and family who are always there for us!!
8. Being so fortunate in a time when others are loosing so much.
9. For a quiet breakfast with Neal and Conner and the sunshine coming in from outside.
10. For the sound of giggles and tiny footsteps I hear every day!!!

Just a few things that I'm really thankful for : ) I DO WISH SO MUCH that this baby would already come....I'm feeling so ready these days. Just a few more days lets hope. If the baby does not come this week we will be getting induced hopefully this Friday but most likely on Monday....one week at the most. We have decided that this was the best way to go for us this time around since I am all alone up here and it will be easier to get someone here to watch Conner and for Neal to be home and not 4 hours away!!! Although I'm still a little sceptical about the induction and wish we could just wait for him to come when he is ready I'm trying to convince myself that this will be much easier.

Mothers!!!!

MOTHERS

Real Mothers don't eat quiche;
they don't have time to make it.

Real Mothers know that their kitchen utensils
are probably in the sandbox.

Real Mothers often have sticky floors,
filthy ovens and happy kids.

Real Mothers know that dried play dough
doesn't come out of carpets.

Real Mothers don't want to know what
the vacuum just sucked up.

Real Mothers sometimes ask 'Why me?'
and get their answer when a little
voice says, 'Because I love you best.'

Real Mothers know that a child's growth
is not measured by height or years or grade...
It is marked by the progression of Mommy to Mom to Mother...

The Images of Mother

4 YEARS OF AGE - My Mommy can do anything!
8 YEARS OF AGE - My Mom knows a lot! A whole lot!
12 YEARS OF AGE - My Mother doesn't really know quite everything.
14 YEARS OF AGE - Naturally, Mother doesn't know that, either.
16 YEARS OF AGE - Mother? She's hopelessly old-fashioned.
18 YEARS OF AGE - That old woman? She's way out of date!
25 YEARS OF AGE - Well, she might know a little bit about it!
35 YEARS OF AGE - Before we decide, let's get Mom's opinion.
45 YEARS OF AGE - Wonder what Mom would have thought about it?
65 YEARS OF AGE - Wish I could talk it over with Mom.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
because that is the doorway to her heart,
the place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she
shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows.
